I know there is no confirmation of it in the universe or by Victoria Aveyard herself, but I am so insanely curious if Mimics can only replicate Silver powers, or if they'd be able to replicate newblood powers, too. There whole thing is just being able to mimic the powers of those around them, so does that extend to newbloods? Does anyone have any theories on that?

I currently just started reading the series and am on kings cage!!! I love the book so much!

My favorite character has to be Tiberias "Cal" Calore VII because he is just so charming and cares SO MUCH for Mare and would do anything for her!!

Theoretically, since human (and what we can assume red, and probably silver too) blood is made out of different types of iron (hence Evangeline saying on page 489 of Kings Cage, “The metallic tang infects everything”). Could magnetrons control a body, not through mind (like Samson) or electricity (like Tyton), but through the iron in their blood? So they could theoretically take the iron out of someones blood to therefore use it against the person and killing them anyways (no way to transport oxygen). I haven’t finished the series yet, so maybe they’ve used it later on in Kings Cage, War Storm, or Broken Thrown but idk, just an interesting thought to me, lol

Even though no one's on the wiki anymore I just felt like asking anyways. So, one random day I decided to read the red queen and I didn't really like it that much because the betrayal seemed too obvious. But apparently no one else saw it coming? Is that just me....

Also, it just seemed weird that Mare just believed everything Maven said without a second thought. Especially everything related to Cal. I dunno, it just seemed off to me.

I only read the first book but since I didn't like it much I didn't feel like reading the others. So... should I bother with the rest of the books or no?

Okay so I might have only read the 1st book because it was kind of unbearable at the end... BUT before I go on I want you all to know that YES I finished it and YES I liked it but it also had some issues.

1. I was like really excited in the beginning but as soon as she was betrothed to that backstabber (Barf Maven) it went downhill from there

2. I felt like Mare lost a lot of her spunk that I particularly liked, but maybe that was just because she was losing her mind which I can understand

3. I feel like Juilan should have played an even MORE important role in her survival

4. I feel like the big plot twist (Mavin) was just her dumping something random in the book to make it more interesting. You couldn't even see the signs of betrayal. You wouldn't have been able to guess. If that's what makes it good to some people but I at least want to have an inkling of a betrayal. Even a small slip-up

5. It was WEIRD how Maven still wanted Mare to be his GF even after he told her that their entire romantic relationship (Which I loved btw) was a LIE! How would you feel? I'm at least glad she didn't accept

6. Cal. Don't get me wrong he is kind of a weird dude, but Mare also treated him like a monster after all he did for her. And then she flipping tried to manipulate him? Dude what? This girl is slightly psychotic, but we can blame it on the mama's boy himself Mavin.

7. In the beginning in the market square full of silvers, they are described as having an attitude that isn't really kept up when Mare joins them. That might be just to show how weak they are, but that also might be poor writing.

8. The rebellion. Don't get me wrong they do it better than most, but I find it hard to believe that they got themselves captured in the ball assassination

9. Just a bunch of other small details. Like how the powers were ignored (that might have been on purpose) and how Mare doesn't like making smart decisions.

ANYWAY, I do like this book, but I don't think I will be reading any of the sequels anytime soon. To all those who love this book have a great rest of your life

And I was even more disappointed after reading king's cage, so I decided to leave a comment to see if any other agree with me because I'm heart broken for maven and think mare acted so weakly, cal did not deserve forgiveness so easily at least.

Ok so I didn't understand weather or not cal ACTUALLY gave up the throne and his power on norta's matters, but anyways he chose power over mare and mare JUST SLEPT WITH HIM AGAIN AND FORGOT EVERYTHING?!!!! I mean, that's pretty WEAK to let someone insult ur value like that even if it's ur lover. She f*cked up, and that's why I decided it was a waist of time to red about these two characters any more and just went to read the summary of the rest of the book after king's cage. Maven deserved better, even though he hurt mare alot, but he still loved mare more than cal, because he took the crown just so he had enough power to keep mare by his side, if only after his mother's death Victoria didn't mess him up anymore and instead gave his freedom back to be himself again and undid the effects of her mother again, I think maven was the best choice for mare instead of that weak cal whom noone even rates for him 🙃 Victoria, u disappointed me by weakening the female character and making her a sweet forgiving loving little girl in love with a princeling. That's how most of the readers disappoint me, they are effected by traditional female definitions and they don't know it, female's are always shown as sweet and forgiving and unable to kill those who wronged them and will be their downfall. The only female character who didn't disappoint me was Aelin from the Throne Of Glass series, and even there Sara J Mass gave her other series ACOTAR and it's male character more credit than she did TOG.

LADIES, PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who has noticed this weakness in writing female characters and giving more credit to male characters.
