In Broken Throne, a collection of short stories, Cal visits his brother's grave. At the time of Maven's death, Cal checks his pulse, only to find nothing. I'm pretty sure he buried the body on some remote island.
Yeah me too. It's weird, I never really did like Maven, but I did feel sorry for him. It was unfair how Mare and the rest of the world treated him that way. I'm sorry that he died. I felt like if he had ended up living with Davidson and fell in love or something and got a second chance that would've been better.
Broken Throne says Maven is dead, but he did have some of "himself" in him but he knew he did so much damage that he would have to die, and didn't want to hurt Cal more by showing him his "Maven-side" during their last meeting.
The book says she fell
This probably won’t happen and he probably is dead but i’d kill for a fifth book where maven gets a redemption arc and overcomes his mother’s mind games, the lakeland era get defeated and we see the republics being built where all bloods are on even ground. it honestly upsets me that tolly somos gets a happy ending and maven who has suffered since he was a child doesn’t get one
I have read broken throne, and while his death was delayed, some what, but you see Cal crying over the tombstone of Maven, as he still loved him.
